Soft Cool Refrigeration started as a small family business in Colombo in 1998, servicing restaurants, cafes and pubs. We moved the company to Melbourne in 2002 and have been keeping local kitchens running ever since.
Our philosophy is simple: use quality parts at a fair price. That's how we end up on the supplier list for multi-site operators like Subway, and on the speed dial of independent cafes across the south-east.

Do you cover all of Melbourne?
Yes. We are based in Berwick and service the full Melbourne metropolitan area, with same-day attendance available across the south-east and inner Melbourne for breakdowns. For greater distances we will quote the best window when you call.
How fast can you get to a breakdown?
For 24/7 emergency callouts on critical refrigeration, we aim to be on site the same day, often within a few hours. Call 0433 745 269 and tell us the unit type and what is happening.
Are your technicians licensed?
Every Soft Cool technician is fully qualified and holds the ARC tick, the national authorisation for handling refrigerant gas. Our company licence number is AU 32608.
What brands of equipment do you work on?
All major commercial refrigeration brands - Mitsubishi, Daikin, Bondor, Bitzer, Hermes, Skope, Bromic and the rest. We carry the most common gas, controllers, fans, TX valves and solenoids in the van.
Can you build a custom cool room or freezer room?
Yes. We design and build cool rooms and freezer rooms to suit your floor plan, stock profile and Melbourne summer loads (we engineer for over +38 C ambient). Insulated panels, doors, drainage, plant and controls - all handled in-house.
Do you do preventative maintenance contracts?
Yes. Scheduled service plans for display fridges, cool rooms, freezer rooms, ice machines, glass washers and more. Regular maintenance cuts power use, lowers breakdown risk and protects your stock.
How much does a service call cost?
It depends on the unit, the fault and whether parts are needed. Call us with the model and symptoms and we will give you a clear price before we start work. No mystery invoices.
Do you give written quotes for new installs?
Always. For cool room, freezer room and new fridge installs we send a written quote covering equipment, install, electrical and commissioning before any work is booked.
